Obita Expands Local Payments to Latin America and Upgrades Multi-Currency Services
Hong Kong, October 22, 2026 — Global payment service provider Obita announced the launch of local Pix collection and payout services in Brazil, together with new collection, account, and FX capabilities for the euro (EUR), Singapore dollar (SGD), and Hong Kong dollar (HKD). The update spans both local payment channels and multi-currency fund services, expanding the coverage of Obita’s global payment network and providing enterprises with more options for cross-border payments and treasury management.

Pix is an instant payment system launched by the Central Bank of Brazil, supporting 24/7 transfers and payments for individuals and businesses. According to data from the Central Bank of Brazil, Pix processed approximately 7.1 billion transactions in September 2026, with a total value of around BRL 3.2 trillion. Connecting to this widely used local payment network gives enterprises additional options for collecting payments from Brazilian customers and paying local suppliers, helping make day-to-day transactions and settlement more seamless.
Businesses can generate a Pix payment code or payment link for each transaction through Obita, allowing Brazilian payers to complete payments in BRL. Once funds are credited in BRL, businesses can convert them into USD or USDT as needed. For payouts, businesses do not need to pre-fund BRL balances even if they hold USD or stablecoins. They can initiate transactions directly using USD, USDT, or USDC balances in their Obita accounts, complete the currency conversion, and then pay Brazilian recipients in local currency through Pix, with same-day settlement supported. This enables businesses to connect to Brazil’s local payment network using their existing fund balances.
The newly added EUR, SGD, and HKD services support enterprises in managing multi-currency fund flows. Businesses can receive funds into accounts under their own merchant name, accept global wire transfers in these currencies, and use the Invoice feature to send payment requests to payers. Funds received can be held in the corresponding currency accounts, withdrawn to same-name accounts as needed, or converted both ways against USD at real-time quoted rates. Together with Obita’s existing USD and stablecoin services, enterprises now have a broader range of currency options when receiving, holding, and converting cross-border funds.
Obita previously launched local collection capabilities in Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia, while local currency payout services have expanded across five key regions: East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East and North Africa. The addition of Brazil Pix extends Obita’s local collection network into Latin America, while the launch of EUR, SGD, and HKD services enables Obita to support cross-border fund flows across a broader range of currencies.
Obita continues to build Obita Mesh, its global open payment network, integrating payment channels across different markets and connecting local collections and payouts, currency exchange, and enterprise treasury management services. The addition of Brazil Pix and new multi-currency account capabilities brings new local payment routes and fund service options to the network, enabling enterprises to manage more cross-market payment and treasury activities through Obita.
